In the event that the bottom cover is damaged or specific wires require access, the bottom cover needs to be removed or replaced. For safety purposes, please remove the battery before working with any electronic components.

What you need

Tools

  1. Nikon D80 Bottom Cover Replacement, Bottom Cover: step 1, image 1 of 2 Nikon D80 Bottom Cover Replacement, Bottom Cover: step 1, image 2 of 2
    • Use the #00 Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the three 8.44 mm screws.

    • Use the #00 Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the four 6.3 mm screws.

    • Use the #00 Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the 2.9 mm screw.

  2. Nikon D80 Bottom Cover Replacement: step 2, image 1 of 2 Nikon D80 Bottom Cover Replacement: step 2, image 2 of 2
    • Use the plastic opening tool to remove the bottom cover.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
