    • Start by removing the battery cover and take out the battery.

    • Remove the 6 tri point screws on the back plating.

    • The back plate should lift right off.

    • Also remove the 3 phillip screws on the mother board.

  2. Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP Speaker Replacement, Pull up the mother board: step 2, image 1 of 1
    • Pull up the mother board from the bottom, opposite the ribbon cable. Try not to put any stress on the ribbon cable.

  3. Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP Speaker Replacement, Replacing the speaker and re assembly: step 3, image 1 of 1
    • The speaker makes contact to the mother board by two pads, no soldering required. Just place the new speaker in it's slot along with the rest of the buttons.

    • To re assemble put back down the mother board to it's original position and follow the steps in reverse. I would recommend doing a dry test by just holding the console together and testing it out before you screw anything back in.

    • A few things for re assembly , make sure the power switch remains in the back casing as it can easily fall out, and make sure it is set to off. Do not lose the square nut on the back casing as it is not replaceable.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Didn't need to replace it but needed to re-seat it and bend its pins up enough to make consistent contact since audio was cutting out here and there. This was super helpful!
