Introduction
The cordless tyre inflater with a 12v lithium ion battery kept turning off when in use.
When attached to a tyre, you could set the desired pressure on the LCD display buttons and on pressing the trigger switch, the compressor could be heard and the displayed pressure would rise quickly and then the compressor would turn off after a few seconds. The tyre pressure which measured 12psi with another gauge showed no discernable increase in pressure on using the above inflater.
Inspection of the Air Hawk Pro's flexible tube showed that the end connector, which couples to the tyre's Schrader valve, had a broken/missing actuator so it couldn't depress the valve in the tyre.
This could be solved by buying an extension tube or chuck to fit on the end of the original tube. (£4 from China search 'extension tube inflating car tyres' on ebay. Do not be tempted, like me, to buy the cheaper extention tubes (<£2) which say 'no central pin' as they have no actuator to press down the valve.

The second image is looking down the end of the broken connector which is screwed on to a car tyre's standard Schrader valve. Note: there should be small central bar (actuator) across the hole, such that compressed air can come out of the hole and the bar pushes down on the tyre's valve. The bar has broken off in this case.

The third image show a randomly chosen tyre connector (a quick fit type rather than a screw on) with a central rod that pushes the car tyre's valve to open it. It's this rod that has broken off in my case.

Image shows extension tube I purchased with 'quick fit' chuck on the left side that fits onto the tyre and costs £3.30 inc pp on ebay (Mar 2023). The thread (right side) fits into the original partially broken airhawk pro flexible tube.

You could also buy just a screw-in quick-fit chuck which should also work. But you don't get the extra length and curiously is slightly more expensive (£5)

Although my tyre inflater was acting erratically and was unusable, it was possible to get it working again by buying a new tyre connector to fit on the old flexible tube(~£4 ebay multiple sellers). (Airhawk don't appear to sell spare parts themselves)
