What you need

    • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove a 5.0 mm screw from the base of the key fob.

    • Place the flat end of a spudger into the gap between the key blank (metal part) and the case.

    • Gently pry upward to separate the housing.

    • Once the case comes apart, turn the key upside down, and the keyless fob should easily come out.

    • Use a spudger or your fingernails to pry open the four clips securing the keyless fob.

    • Ensure that you pinch the fob on the side, not the top, during the opening to avoid accidentally re-securing the clips.

    • Replace it with a new CR1620 3V lithium coin battery.

    • Reassemble the key fob.
