How to Apply Liquid Metal in a PlayStation 5
Introduction
Use this guide to apply liquid metal in your PlayStation 5. You can also use this guide to re-spread existing liquid metal.
Some signs you may need to check the condition of your PlayStation's liquid metal are overheating, thermal throttling, or poor performance.
The liquid metal in your PlayStation 5 can oxidize over time, or become unevenly spread on the APU and heatsink. If the liquid metal has oxidized, it will look dried-out or cracked and will need to be replaced. If it's just unevenly covered, you can re-spread it evenly across the surfaces of the APU and heatsink.
