-[* black] We first remove what’s meant to be removed (and cleaned ones in a while): The rubber tips that come in three different sizes with each pair of earbuds.
-[* black] The rear plate of the earbud looks suspiciously removable so we grab our iMac wheel and get going—no heating required to slice through the adhesive.
- [* icon_note] This glued on plate is home to the touch controls to stop, start and skip track as well as accept and deny calls, and activate the active noise cancelling modes.
-[* black] On the inside we can already spot the glued in motherboard. Since we don't want to rip anything in overeagerness we decide to follow our [link|https://youtu.be/3vY3wuE7WVU?t=125|traditional|new_window=true] opening procedure for earbuds to avoid tearing any cables.
+[* black] We start our disassembly with the most removable, and cleanable, bit: the flexible tips. With different size options you've have a good chance of finding a set that fits.
+[* black] Now we have no choice but destruction. We aim for a likely seam and get slicing with an opening wheelluckily no heat required!
+ [* icon_note] The plate we peel up has the touch controls mounted to it, but your taps are communicated via spring contacts, so no booby trap cables in sight!
