Turn the logic board assembly over to access the heat sink's x-clamp.

To avoid ESD damage, be sure to lay your logic board on a soft, static free surface during service.

The logic board is very sensitive to impact and scratching. Be sure to not let the screwdriver slip and damage the logic board.

Starting at the front left corner of the x-clamp, insert a 1.5 mm flathead screwdriver between the heat sink's peg and the x-clamp's hook.

If you're worried about scratching the logic board, insert a spudger or thin screwdriver down through one of the holes in the x-clamp, in the gap just inside the screw post. Pry outward to release the x-clamp. Repeat for the opposite arm.
