I was freaking out when my old 2011 macbook pro battery started expanding, lifting my mouse pad up on one side and down on the other. The longer I waited the more it expanded. It was frustrating because the tracker worked but the mousepad couldn’t drag anything anymore. I feared having to spend $200 or more because of the age of my pro baby. Soooooooo glad I came across ifixit. Only problem was the tiny screwdriver couldn’t get one screw out so instead of 20 minutes it took me 1.5 hours to replace the battery. I was so nervouse the okd thing would explode in my face. I ended up just pulling the screw out with the cover. Then I forgot to leave that screw loose when I put it back in, so will have to struggle all over again when removing it again :(. Maybe a stronger screwdriver would help? Happy nonetheless…
