Replaced battery on my aging, but still awesome Dell laptop - feels like new!

DDDMMM -

My Problem

I wanted to replace my Dell XPS laptop's battery, but I didn't want to risk buying a knockoff, non-genuine battery from Amazon or Ebay. I've already had a good experience with iFixit when I replaced a battery for my Samsung Galaxy phone, so I ordered the laptop battery through them, as well. It arrived in ONE DAY and worked flawlessly. Now my powerful laptop has twice the battery life! Thank you.

My Fix

It was trivial. I unscrewed a few screws from the back of the laptop, disconnected the old battery, held the power button for 5 seconds to discharge any remaining power, then connected the new battery. That's it.

My Advice

Don't hesitate to replace the batteries for your laptop or phone. Whether you do it by yourself or pay someone to do it, it will breathe new life into your devices.

That laptop looks very repairable. Not as much as my OptiPlex, though.
