Hey Jeremy, I have the exact same model, and I bought the iFix it battery last week. Mine lasts for about 2 hours when watching online video (youtube or netflix) and about 3 - 4 hours when surfing.. so I'm starting to think that the problem is with the model + OS combination.. may be I should switch back to Mavericks. (I currently have Yosemite). (1) I even did a fresh re install of the OS>. still doesnt help. You can try resetting your SMC.. for your computer to recognize the new battery.. http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

I have the exact same macbook pro and I had many of the similar issues.. I recently spent $300 to upgrade it and I dont regret it. Added 8 Gigs or RAM (previously 4), 500GB ssd (previously 500 GB 5400 RPM HD), Replaced the battery.. The computer runs lightning fast now, boots in 20-22 seconds. everything is super fast.. Considering how expensive these laptops are, it'd be worth it to upgrade your existing computer rather than buying a new one.

I added this battery on my Macbook Pro 2009 edition. I still only get 2 hours of online video (youtube or netflix). is that normal? And the Maximum Capacity of my battery is 93% at arrival??

Any tips to increase the battery life of my laptop? I don't mind going back to mavericks or earlier versions..
