I encountered a couple of problems with the fix that the text and video tutorials didn't really elaborate on. The biggest was getting the pry tool underneath the screen's seam. It was really tricky gauging how much force I needed to use with the suction; the screen bent a little too much for my liking without leaving so much as gap for the pry tool. I didn't end up using it as the screen popped off all at once and (luckily) left the connections intact.
Now, the battery itself, while a little better at holding a charge, only lasts ~5 hrs of usage and 45 hrs of standby. It was really surprising when I saw how quickly it drained right before my eyes. At my second full charge cycle it drained 2-3% with just me looking at the home screen for 1 minute-- and, mind you, this is while it's set to the lowest brightness, with no background apps, BT off, BG refresh off, and only data and wifi on. I have no idea if this is an issue with iOS 10 or my specific device, but I guess it's back to low power mode again for me.
