Lines in a display on a mobile device can be caused by many things. Could be a failing display, have you had it repaired in the past? If so, was the screen of good quality? Was the device exposed to water? Water Damaged devices can cause lines in the display. How about any drops? Drops can cause the display connectors to become lose from the logic board. If the device was exposed to water, I would head over to a Certified IFIXIT shop to get it professionally repaired. The lithium batteries start to wear out around that year or two mark.
