This is my first apple display, as for resolution, I don't know, the 17in version did not have any adjustments needed, it was literally plug and play. the 1024X768 is the optimum for the 15in., 1280X1024 is max for the 17in. I will have to give it a try and see if that might help, the last owner had the same problem. the cable and connector look good as well. thanks for the advice.
