I'm guessing that it's the video card since the coffee didn't spill up. It might be the display, but I hope you had someone dismantle the entire computer and scrub all the coffee gunk off it so it doesn't develop corrosion over the next few weeks. Just my opinion from experience, but the display isn't usually the victim from spills onto the keyboard (if that is what happened).
Read morethis shows it You have it in the right spot, just figure out how it was attached. I don't think it's soldered, probably glued.
Read moreget a $6 optical cleaning disk with brushes. I like the ones that let you use iso. alcohol, but not all do. let it run about 4-6 times depending on your patience. even if it doesn't seem to complete and play the music or show the video to prove it, it's still cleaning the lens, so run it a bunch. I'd also jam a nozzle from a can of compressed air in there as well. then run the cleaner disk again. (RadioShack still carries them). either that or you swap the drive out.
Read moreIf you can't repair the switches, bypass them and add a foot toggle floor switch in the power cord. If you can't find that, then just put a rocker switch in the cord. You might be able to replace the switch, but they are usually more robust than the socket. Check for a bent or broken connection in the socket and for damage to the cord. Check the cord tip for indications that it has a fuse in the plug. Good luck. Post images!
Read moreIt's PC3-12800 RAM, 200 Pin DIMM cards. So it's laptop ram, not desktop. Pretty standard RAM once you get to it. Check your model number to see what is available per slot. There are two slots. Use everymac.com for help.
Read moreTake it all apart using the guides and then reassemble. It's probably just a connection, but may be a broken BGA in deed. Your good screen is worth a lot, so try to buy a SGN from eBay with a broken screen. Replace it with your good one. I don't think it's the BGA because it's held in place pretty well and there are lots more things to fail first. Compare pictures of yours to the take apart. good luck.
Read moresounds like someone inverted the fan motor leads, meaning that the fan is stuck in reverse. I'd try through the proper channels first, but you should be able to either fix it or have someone skilled in small appliance repair fix it. First, look through all the troubleshooting tips and instructions. Is there a setting that is supposed to blow instead of suck? The gauge doesn't work because the air is moving the wrong direction. Hopefully it's a fan blower, vacuum, but even if it's a pump it should work the same way. There is a AC/DC inverter and then the blower or pump is fed the proper DC voltage to run. The positive and negative wires are probably switched. Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but you should look at the connections to the vacuum unit and see if you can see indications of a positive / negative wire connection. Taking it to a TV/Radio repair service should be cost-effective as they can diagnose it quickly and resolder the motor correctly. You should be able to do it yourself too if you...
Read moreAre you saying that the entire port came off, that the one pin came loose, or that the cable came off the port (socket)? If the entire socket/port came off of the board, you'll have a hard time getting it to properly seat with all of the connections in place, without resoldering it. I bet this isn't the case though. The cable that goes into that socket is held firmly in place by pressure from the cover. The real problem is probably in the pins in the microUSB jack or in the actual battery connection from the jack. That isn't the battery connection I dont' think.
Read morethese low level sensors are usually triggered by a magnet in the tank. Try to figure out if it's a magnet or float that raises in the tank. I'd just get a magnet, remove the tank and run the magnet around the tank housing to see if the light goes off. I bet you'll find that there is an obvious spot on the tank for the magnetic float and that it's either stuck down or missing.
Read moreLowe's has removal tools, basically it's a coarse, reverse threaded carbon steel bit that is designed so that as you twist the bit counterclockwise (out) it digs into the head of the screw. If you can find one online that's small enough it could do the trick. http://www.amazon.com/Made-USA-53700-Spiral-Extractor/dp/B0025PKJYA.

The easier way to replace the iSight is to remove the screen bezel, take out the LCD screws, disconnect the iSight from the ribbon cable, unscrew and remove isight, replace it. Put it back together. I don't know why they told us to do all of this extra junk, unless you know that the cables are (part of) the problem.
