My Nexus 6 will no longer charge - both wireless and USB charging will not register with chargers and will not result in a charged phone after some time left connected. A repair shop claimed to have ordered several parts but were unable to find the correct one for my “ATT” version of the phone.

Any idea what part he was talking about?

Is it possible to open the phone and touch wires from a cut USB cable directly to battery leads (or some other internal component) to charge it, bypassing whatever is broken?
