Watch out for the trackpad plate under the battery cells. When i put my card underneath the battery cells i was hitting the plate instead of the adhesive. Just angle your card a bit lower to make sure the other end of the card goes above the plate. I suggest wedging a corner of the card in the middle of the two cells. There is a small gap that you should be able to feel. Once the card is in there, just add some adhesive remover onto the card and let it run down the card and under the cells. Spread it a little so it touches the adhesive of both batteries. Then wait and pry. Worked very well for me. Thank you to the comments that came before that got me the idea!
I have successfully transferred my SE flex cable from it’s screen assembly onto a 5s screen assembly that I will be using on my SE.
I found that starting with peeling the tape of the lcd shield plate is a much faster and easier way of getting the entire thing off. In one go even. Just make sure to do it gently. I have done it successfully while removing the 5s cable but when removing the SE I accidentally ripped the tape off. Thankfully it does not need to be attached directly to the cable to be used the same way it was.
The metal case for the proximity sensor came off but thankfully it is rally easy to just put it back where it was with the adhesive that was already on.
Just took out the earpiece out of my iPhone SE screen and put it into my iPhone 5s screen assembly. Which I will be using on my iPhone SE. Good stuff
Fantastic tutorial !
I replaced my SE ‘s screen with one from my old 5s and it works perfectly! Touch ID and all.
All parts used were OEM
If you are following this guide to replace the thermal paste on the CPU i think you should know that - if you, like i, have decided to remove the black electrical tape that is on the CPU, make sure you are super careful when using Thermal Paste Remover Liquid. Any liquid can easily get under the CPU because there is enough gap from every side.
My Mac lives but now i live with the memory of worryingly wondering whether i killed it while cleaning out the liquid from underneath the CPU without lifting it.
