Wanted to leave this up here in case anyone with the same problem googles their way here. Check if you have the right HDMI cable (see hardware requirements for 4K & HDR) and correct TV settings. If everything is OK, you may need to check your hardware of the console.

You can: ▪ Try another disc to check if the DVD player is dirty or there are bad lens and mainboards. ▪ If a car portable DVD player is not loading discs, check the tin ribbon wire that connects the optic lens and the mainboard. ▪ Check if the problematic disc is dirty or scratched. And fix the scratched DVD using toothpaste, peanut butter, Vaseline or copy the scratched DVD into video files. ▪ Check if the DVD is region coded, otherwise strictly protected, or improperly burned and decrypt the DVD if necessary.

It depends on whether your DVD player supports MP4 format. Most DVD player formats including MPEG1, DivX, DVD+R/-R, and possibly VOB, AVI, MKV via USB.

The problem is that the hardware of your TV is not strong enough to process VP9, the proprietary video coding format developed by YouTube-owner Google specifically to handle Ultra HD video. On the contrary, 4K videos on Amazon are compressed via HEVC, not VP9. To play YouTube videos in 4K or higher resolutions, a YouTube 4K converter may help you convert the formats or resolutions into something your TV can accept.

As you didn’t provide more info, I would recommend you to: a. check if your disc drive, or if the DVD disc is damaged and repair the drive/disc if necessary; b. check if the DVD is from another area, namely if there is region code protection on it; if it is, change the region code of your DVD player c. try another DVD player like VLC; d. convert the DVD to digital with Handbrake, MakeMKV, WinX DVD Ripper, etc.

1. Try cleaning the DVD drive lens with a lens cleaning disc. 2. The DVD is damaged or otherwise protected, try another disc or play the DVD on another good player. 3. Replace the optical drive. 4. Go to the settings on your player and update the software. 5. Decrypt the DVD or repair it.

It can be a different default region code of the driver which is not compatible with the movies. You should be able to change the region code of the drive for up to 5 times.
