Great tutorial, and excellent parts. I googled my problem and ended up in the iFixit forums, which described my bluetooth and GPS problem to a T. I removed everything, and like many others, found the insulator had melted off of the part inside my phone. Replaced with the new part, using the toolkit provided, and my first test bike ride with GPS went flawlessly! Wish I would have tried fixing this a year ago haha. Thanks for the great parts and great tutorial!
Took me about 3 hours, I went slow and used tape on a piece of paper and wrote down every step number and what every screw was. Very doable, just need patience. Also, don’t drink coffee beforehand! My hands were shaking a little too much on reassembly and it made it a little harder to put the tiny screws back in place - I had to try many times on each screw to get it in the holes! :)
I skipped the step of removing 1.3mm screw also after reading all of the comments! Thank you folks. My repair was for the Flex cable replacement and I was able to get the logic board out fine by slipping it out under this bracket.
From my experience - coffee was a great idea the morning I started working on this project, but if caffeine in any way makes your hands shake, reassembly will be difficult! I had to put this part back in place using the tweezers, and then keep the tweezer points in the top right screwhole while I screwed in the left screw, because my screw slipping kept making the part fly off. This helps get the part in place for the 2nd screw to be put in easier.
