Make sure that the display and battery cable connectors are connected properly, that could be a cause of the excessive heat. I would contact Ifixit as they could further suggest troubleshooting steps to better find out the main cause.

Make sure that the fan is plugged in correctly. and also sometimes when you're using it the fan won't have to turn on because either the CPU is not hot enough for it to turn on or there is something wrong with the thing that manages the temperatures of the devices inside it
Try replacing the disk drive or stick in a toothpick or something like that to pull anything that comes out along with it. Overtime dust and dirt can get traped in the drive causing it not to properly pull that disk into it.
