Hello! My name is Atticus Gonzalez, and I attend Cal State University, Los Angeles. I am from Oakland, California. I am currently working on my undergraduate degree in computer science and have the opportunity to play on my university baseball team. After I graduate, I will go on to get my law degree and become a successful lawyer. I think that pairing computer science and law is an exciting combination that most people do not think to do.
Here is a picture of me from my signing ceremony with my beautiful mother on the right and my father on the left. My family is significant to me, and I would not be where I am now without them. My father played baseball at Cal State LA and is currently a lawyer. He is the reason why I play baseball here and why I would like to be a lawyer. My mother is currently a probation specialist.
I believe that no matter what challenge is put in front of me, I can solve it. There is nothing physical that I have built or created other than a couple of simple programs. However, I am excited to develop the skills needed for more projects. I would love to learn how to repeat technology such as computers because mine, or my family's, always seems to be breaking. In high school, I was on the high honor roll, and I received a presidential scholarship from Cal State Los Angeles. This project will help me develop skills I do not typically use as I am very new to this kind of work. Learning how to solve problems, especially in unfamiliar areas, is a skill both computer scientists and lawyers need. Finally, a fun fact is that I eat raw liver almost every day.
Here is an image of my friend who attends my Bible Study. My Bible Study and faith are critical to me. I am the head pastor for a small Bible study/Church Service I run on campus, which gets up to 30 people each week!
Here I am during media day for my baseball team. Playing baseball and being a part of the team brings me extreme joy and a reason to wake up in the morning and continue to challenge myself. I believe that how you do something is how you do everything, and I take the skills of hard work and consistency, which I learned playing, into every aspect of my life.
