Hi there! My name is Haylee cates and I am a current student at both Texas A&M College Station and Austin Community College! I am a biomedical sciences major, and doing general sciences at ACC because I love to help others and problem solve. I want to continue to go to school at ACC to get my Surgical Technologist Certification for the next two years and then work as a scrub tech for an OR until I get enough hours to become a first surgical assistant. I hope that I just end up making it to where I want in my career, make some great friends and relationships with those around me and have some fun while I do it. My goal is to eventually have kids once i'm financially stable but I probably need a car and a house and credit before so i'm trying to get started on that stuff now!! I am very organized, I love to get to know people, and I have a passion for service. As a kid I used to help my dad take apart and put back together his motorcycle, four wheeler and anything I could! I love to fix things, build things, repurpose things as my dad has worked in the construction industry for all of my life, he has encouraged me to pursue fixing things myself. A lot of the time this involves calling him when I do need fixing but I have changed a tire and helped him wire some stuff underneath a car before. I was in a research program that specialized in mathematical heart modeling and so I have a certificate with my degree in that, I used to be first aid and CPR certified and am in the process of renewing it. I am apart of Kappa Delta Sorority at Texas A&M College Station, I belong to a local church in both College Station and Cedar Park as I am in the process of transitioning back home to Cedar Park. I love to hang out with friends, family and be outside if the weather is good. If its not I love to watch movie marathons, especially action movies live DC or MARVEL. My experience with this project will help me look like a problem solver to my employer! Surgical Technology is all about what you can do for the patient and the surgeon while the surgeon is preoccupied with their part, and how you can problem solve to get ahead, I think this will be great for my resume and overall honestly life experience. lastly I would like to not that I can sing the ABC's backwards!!
