Disagree with rdklinc Inverters fail ... like most electronic components, but given that its a high voltage device, it stands a marginally increased risk of doing so. I've a drawer full of them as evidence. Without question, in this order... 50/50 chance of it being either the cable running through the hinge or the inverter itself. Or, the likelyhood of anything arbitrarily going pop on the logic board is pretty slim... but, it could happen, so this would be you last resort.
