FYI: Apple repaired our 2016 MacBook Pro  (MacbookPro13,1) at no cost. Apple published a service repair fix on 5May19: https://support.apple.com/13-inch-macbook-pro-display-backlight-service Note: the repair part was p/n:  605-20954 - Display Assembly, Silver I went to an Apple store and rep initially said repair was not covered. I showed him the above link, then he said .....I did not know about this - this was new info - he did not know about this repair service program. Check to see if your model is included.
