Mine had the same problem. I attempted to fix mine, but when I ordered and received the new switch, it didn't have the mounting hardware attached, so I wasn’t able to finish the repair. If you try to fix this yourself, make sure you get the switch WITH the hardware: '''iPhone 6 Audio Control Cable and Bracket'''
In my case, the surface-mounted switch on the printed circuit board was mechanically faulty. If seems the metal banding holding it together loosened, so it wouldn’t switch any longer without applying pressure from the backside.
Is there a reason I should adhere the new batteries? I’d opt to leave them detached, if I can. The primary concern is obviously internal movement causing premature wear on the battery cables.
I'm considering just attaching them all to a thin plastic sheet, that I tack down in a few spots. Maybe extend the sheet so the speaker screws hold it in place…
My home button was extremely loose when installed in this fashion. To help remedy it, I installed the gasket sandwiched between the button and glass instead of on the rear face of the button. Not perfect, but a much better feel. Prior to that, the button actually stuck out further than the glass.
The blue film would NOT remove from my strips. It was permanently adhered to the strips. I now wonder if the manufacturer messed up and put the blue film on upside down.
