Blank Screen

The screen stays black and will not respond to touch or buttons being pressed.

Battery is dead

Plug your device in to charger. If screen does not turn on within a few minutes, it is possible that the battery has a deep discharge, so leave the phone plugged in for an hour to see if that resolves the problem.

Battery needs to reset

Take the battery out, wait 10 seconds, and put it back in. You can also try taking the SIM card out at the same time because sometimes the battery and SIM card interact and cause the screen to go blank.

Phone needs to reboot

To force a reboot on the phone, simultaneously hold down the volume up and power buttons for about 10 seconds until the phone reboots. If the screen still does not power on, check the top of the phone to see if the internal LED light is on. If the LED light is not on, the problem is most likely internal. Click here to see how to replace the screen.

Phone Overheating

The back of the phone is hot to the touch.

Processor is too busy

It is possible that the processor of the phone is carrying too big of a workload and that is causing the battery to overheat. To fix this, close out of applications that are not in use and try to avoid streaming videos for long periods of time. To close out applications, hold down the multi-tasking button until you can see the applications. Then, swipe the applications off screen to close them.

It is possible that the battery is old or worn down and needs to be replaced. Click here to see how to replace the battery.

Phone powering off

Your phone shuts down randomly.

Defective electric battery

It could possibly be a defective battery causing your phone to power off. If this is the case, replace it with a new one.

Battery incorrectly calibrated

Follow these steps to fix it:

Use your phone until the battery dies and the screen turns off completely. > Turn your phone back on. It will likely shut down again before it finishes booting, but the battery isn't completely dead yet. > Repeat this process several more times. Power it on, let it keep trying to boot up, then let it die. Once, the logo stops appearing, and your phone quits trying to boot up, stop trying to turn you phone on. > Without turning your phone on, plug it into a charger. Let it sit there plugged in and turned off for at least 6 hours. The goal is to let it charge to 100% without the phone being powered on. > Once the battery is fully charged, you can continue normal usage.

Application causes shut down

If the problem occurs when you are using a certain app, then all you have to do is uninstall it. Go to “Settings” > “Apps” > “See All” > Scroll to find the app > Click on it > Click “Uninstall”
