---|
+ | === ***Batteries are Low on Charge*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | How the drone tells you how charged it is: |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | * All LEDs are on and not blinking – Charge levels above 80% |
---|
+ | * Three LEDs solid and one LED blinking – Charge levels between 50 to 75% |
---|
+ | * Two solid LEDs and 2 Blinking LEDs – Charge levels between 0 and 50% |
---|
+ | * Make sure to hit the button near the 4 LED lights on the underbelly of the drone |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | If the drone is on low charge, charge the drone. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Faulty Power Button*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | Try cleaning the power button to be sure it's pressing all the way down. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | To clean a get compress air can and spray the power button. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Damaged Batteries*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | If none of this works, the battery may be damaged. Please look to the Charged Batteries Not Working page for more information. |

+ | == ***Charged Batteries Not Working*** == |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | ''When you put a charged battery in the drone, the drone does not turn on.'' |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Battery Broken*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | Possible causes are: |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | * The drone has flown in damp conditions or areas, including fog. |
---|
+ | * The drone has been kept in an area that's too hot or too cold. |
---|
+ | * The drone has been left plugged in for too long. |
---|
+ | * The batteries were not given a proper “cooling time” before being charged again. |
---|
+ | * If you left the batteries in the charging hub or the drone, they would not discharge. And as you probably already know, storing the batteries when fully charged could damage them. You had to remove the batteries from the hub or the drone for them to discharge. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | If a battery is broken, it must be replaced. To replace a battery please refer to our [guide|149601|battery replacement guide|new_window=true]. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Out of Date Firmware*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | If you’ve not updated your firmware, this could be one of the reasons your drone is not powering up. Connect the drone to the DJI Fly app and the app should notify you that an update is needed. The app will guide you through the updating process. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Broken Charger*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | If the charger is unable to be used on any device, the charger may be broken and will need to be replaced. Here is the link to our [guide|149748|main board replacement guide|new_window=true]. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Blocked or Damaged Connectors*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | Once you’re sure the batteries are okay, the issue could be dirt and debris in the battery port. To clean the connects spray them with compressed air from a compress air can. Or worse, some of the pins could be damaged. If the pins are damaged, seek a professional for help. |

+ | == ***Drone Fails to Hover in Place or At All*** == |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | ''When the drone is trying to hover it is not stable.'' |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Poor Compass Calibration*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | To recalibrate the compass in the drone go to the drone’s settings in the DJI Fly app. From there, go to Settings, Control, and scroll down to Sensors. In the sensor section, the app will guide you through the rest of the calibration process. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Poor Controller Calibration*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | When you need to recalibrate the controller, the control should be beeping and will continue until you fix it. To recalibrate the controller you open the DJI Fly app, go to Settings, then Control, and scroll down the RC Calibration. In the RC Calibration section, the app will guide how to finish this process. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Improper Weight*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | Adjusting the weight of the original drone can cause it to struggle while hovering. To prevent this use the original parts provided by DJI. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Damaged Motors*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | For a drone to maintain a hover, the drone needs all the motors to spin at the same speed. If the motors are not running at the same speed, check them to see if they have any debris stuck in them. To clear out debris used a can of compressed air to spray the motor. If the motors themselves are damaged, they will need to be replaced. Here is the link to our [guide|149759|drone arm replacement guide|new_window=true]. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Damaged or Loose Propellers*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | If the propellers are damaged or loose this will cause the drone to fail to hover. Replace the propellers or tighten them accordingly. Here is the link to our [guide|149603|propeller replacement guide|new_window=true]. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Damaged Drone Body*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | If the drone's body is damaged, the drone can fail to hover. Replace the drone body to fix this. Here is the link to our [guide|149681|drone body replacement guide|new_window=true]. |

+ | |
---|
+ | == ***Drone Doesn’t Connect to the Controller*** == |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | ''When trying to connect the drone to the controller via Bluetooth it is not successful.'' |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Drone Fails to Connect*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | This is how you normally connect the drone to the controller: |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | * Switch on the drone and the controller, and the smartphone. |
---|
+ | * Connect the smartphone to the controller. |
---|
+ | * On the DJI Fly app, go to “Connect to Aircraft.” |
---|
+ | * Tap on the Settings icon on the top right, then tap on Control |
---|
+ | * Scroll until you find Connect to Aircraft and tap on it. |
---|
+ | * The controller will start beeping with the 4 LEDs flashing. |
---|
+ | * Tap the drone’s power button and hold it for at least 4 seconds. |
---|
+ | * The drone will beep once, and the LEDs will flash in sequence, initiating the connection process. |
---|
+ | * If the process is successful, both the drone’s and RC’s LEDs will stop flashing, and you’ll see the drone’s live footage on the mobile device. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Out of Date Firmware*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | If you’ve not updated your firmware, this could be one of the reasons your drone is not powering up. Connect the drone to the DJI Fly app and the app should notify you that an update is needed. The app will guide you through the updating process. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***SD Card Files were Altered*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | If that doesn't work, the SD card can cause pairing issues. If you use very long names on your files, it may cause a pairing issue. Try changing the names of the Bluetooth device or your phone's name. Additionally, changing or adding files in the SD card will lead to problems. To fix altered files, you need to return the files back to their original state or replace the SD card with a new one. To replace the SD card take the current one out of the port on the back of the drone and put the new one in there. |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | === ***Incompatible Phone*** === |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | Currently, the DJI FLY APP is only compatible with the following phones: |
---|
+ | |
---|
+ | * iPhone 11.0 and above |
---|
+ | * Android 6.0 and above |
