Lenovo Flex 3-1580 Battery does not charge while plugged into power troubleshooting
When you plug the power adapter into the wall and the Lenovo Flex 3-1580 won't take charge these troubleshooting steps below ca assist in diagnosing the problem.
Cables blocked
Before getting to deep into the diagnosis lets check for any foreign objects that might be causing this issue.
- Start, by unplugging the charging cable from the Lenovo Flex 3-1580.
- Afterwards, check that there is no debris or excessive amounts of dust / dirt in the charging port.
- This can prevent you from receiving an efficient amount of charge and will need to be cleared out.
- If there is a large amount of dust or dirt in this a can of compressed air will help clear that out.
- Once done cleaning, plug everything back in and test if your receiving any charge.
Power Adapter / Charging block not producing power
If all the cables are plugged in there should be a light that comes on letting you know the charger is working. Here's what to do if there's no light on.
- Unplug the charger from the wall and unplug the cable from the power adapter (block) completely.
- Plug the power cable back into the block, then back into the wall and should see a light appear.
- If there is no light on indicating a charge is happening we'd also recommend trying a different outlet
We say to unplug everything with the charger to help ensure all cables are plugged in and confirm there is no debris is blocking the cable.
Faulty Battery
Another culprit can be the battery itself, either the cabling or the battery will need to be replaced.
- Start by removing the back panel on the bottom of the Lenovo Flex 3-1580.
- Try removing the battery and plug in only the power adapter.
- If you notice that its charging this is a strong indicator the battery will need to be replaced.
