While running a program if you experience sluggish performance, constant freezes, or even the program crashing. We recommend following these steps below for troubleshooting.

Unproper ventilation

When the Lenovo Flex 3-1580 is not getting proper ventilation, this can cause performance issues, and overheating.

  1. Flip the Lenovo Flex 3-1580 over on a flat surface where you can see the vents.
  2. Check if vents are clean and not blocked by dust or any other obstructions blocking the vents.
  3. It may be helpful to pick it up and look at different angles as well.

Hasn't been reset recently

Afterwards you'll want to restart your computer. If there's any long periods of run time without a shutdown or restart, a reset can be very beneficial.

  1. This can assist resolve in any delays, freezes, and possibly any other issues you may be experiencing.
  2. Select the Windows button in the task bar at the bottom of the screen.
  3. click on the power icon to the right of the menu and click restart.
  4. If there's any option to "Update and restart" you'll want to select this rather than the "restart" option.

The "Update and Restart" will help process any updates needed to drivers or software that could also be causing the slow response.

Faulty RAM

Using the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool can check for any potential issues with the RAM (Random-Access Memory).

  1. Select the Windows icon in the taskbar.
  2. Type "Windows Memory Diagnostic" and select the option that appears.
  3. After a pop up will appear, select the "Restart now and check for problems". This will take several minutes so you can choose the "Check for problems the next time I start my computer" if needed.
  4. When you select the "Restart now" and an issue is found windows will let you know after the diagnostic / restart is complete and will automatically provide you feedback how to resolve the issue.
  5. If there is no issue, it's recommended to replace the RAM currently being used, one with a higher value of memory. With higher capacity of memory the more tasks you'll be able to use.
