Screen Goes Black

Nothing is visible on the screen.

Battery Issues

Your battery may have died. If the phone does not work when the battery is fully charged or when the phone is plugged in, it may be necessary to replace the battery. To properly open up the phone and replace this, refer to the Motorola RIZR Z3 Battery Installation Guide.

Broken LCD

Your LCD might be broken. To replace the LCD, refer to the Motorola RIZR Z3 LCD Installation Guide to replace your LCD.

Faulty Motherboard

The motherboard may be dysfunctional. To replace the motherboard, refer to the Motorola RIZR Z3 Motherboard Installation Guide.

Buttons Won't Work

Pressing the buttons does nothing.

Buttons Not Fully Depressed

Make sure that you are pressing the buttons down completely.

Bad Connections

The key may not be making contact with the motherboard. To properly open up the phone and repair or replace the motherboard, refer to the Motorola RIZR Z3 Motherboard Installation Guide.

Center Select Button Comes Off

The circular center button falls off of the phone.

Bad Adhesive

The adhesive that holds the center button can deteriorate with time. A small dab of superglue will effectively hold it in place.

Push Bar Comes Off

The plastic push bar under the screen breaks off.

Bad Adhesive

The glue holding the push bar can deteriorate with time. A little dab of superglue will effectively hold it in place.

Phone Turns Itself Off

My phone deactivates itself on its own.

Sleeping Phone

Press the power button. It is possible that the phone is just sleeping and the screen has turned black to conserve battery power.

Faulty Motherboard

The motherboard may be dysfunctional. To properly open up the phone and repair or replace the motherboard, refer to the Motorola RIZR Z3 Motherboard Installation Guide.

Camera Does Not Work

When I go to take pictures, camera mode is completely black.

Camera Damage

The camera lens may be cracked, or there may be internal problems due to water damage. To properly open up the phone and repair or replace the, refer to the Motorola RIZR Z3 Camera Installation Guide.
