Device is Overheating

The laptop will shut off at random when you are working. No notifications of a potential shutdown were present.

Using your laptop on a bed or couch can block vents from expelling the hot air. Placing your laptop on a hard, flat surface such as a desk or table free from obstructions can help your laptop cool effectively.

This includes the fans and vents underneath the computer. Without proper air flow the device will not vent hot air properly. Use a compressed air duster to blow dust away from the vents and fan assembly gently.

If the device is in a well ventilated area, and the vents on the device are free of debris, the internal cooling system may not be operating correctly. You can check or update these drivers HERE.

If overheating persists, contact Samsung support or a technician for further assistance.

WIFI is not Working

Your computer will not connect to a wireless network.

The network status icon on your taskbar (near your clock) shows the status of your network. You'll be able to tell if you have weak signal strength, a network cable is unplugged, and so on.  Check to see if the icon shows that it is receiving a signal. If not, make sure you are within range of a working Wi-Fi network.

If your within range of an active network, but not able to connect, you may have a faulty device driver.  A device driver is a special kind of software program that controls a specific hardware device attached to a computer. You can update your driver HERE.

Laptop Will Not Turn On

Troubleshooting a laptop that will not turn on has many reasons why. Here are some of the reasons this may be happening.

Check to see if the laptops AC adapter is plugged in (power cord) to the outlet AND the laptop itself. Check if the outlet it is plugged into is giving out power by maybe plugging another device into the outlet. If the outlet is working, but not providing power to the computer, it may be a faulty power cable. If the outlet is working, and the cable appears to be in good condition, the computer may have a bad/dysfunctional battery.

If the unit is able to power on and is receiving power, but will still not boot or stay on, it may be a firmware or driver issue. You can update your BIOS or firmware HERE.

Slow Startup

When the computer turns on, it takes extensive amounts of time to start or takes much longer than usual before I can use the computer.

Check for Malware and Viruses

Run a full system scan using reputable antivirus or anti-malware software to ensure your laptop is not infected. Malware can significantly slow down boot times.

Manage Startup Programs

Disable unnecessary startup programs that may be running in the background and slowing down your laptop's boot time. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager, go to the "Startup" tab, and disable unwanted programs.

Optimize Startup Services

On Windows, you can use the "msconfig" utility to manage startup services. Disable services that you don't need, but be cautious not to disable critical system services.

Update Operating System and Drivers:

Make sure your laptop's operating system and drivers are up-to-date. Manufacturers often release updates that can improve system performance. You can find updates HERE.

No Audio coming from the device

You have trouble listening to sounds on your computer.

Right click on the sound icon in the notification area, select the settings then click the name of the sound output to confirm you have the laptop speakers selected.

First, turn up the volume using any volume control on the computer itself.  If you still don't hear anything, then left click the sound icon in the notification area, and then use the slider to adjust the volume. Make sure to select a volume above 0, which is muted. If you are still not hearing anything, it may be an issue with your audio driver. You can troubleshoot and update the driver HERE.
