Purchased and installed the new battery; it works a charm. I set it up as instructed and it hasn't blown up yet! Unfortunately, I cannot speak to the battery's longevity since I just installed it a week before posting this review. Big thanks to iFixit, though, for having this available. I much prefer getting this from a third party that I can trust more than whatever random seller on Amazon happens to carry one of these things (since Dell can't be bothered to keep the battery available on their website).

Works great as expected, the battery connector is the same as the OEM and the mounting points match up. One issue I had was the length of the battery wires was longer than I expected, but I'd rather have too much than too little wire when connecting them. Overall it was great to replace the swollen battery in my Alienware gaming laptop and not have any safety risks with this brand-new battery.
