Apple designed the iPhone 14 and earlier models to retain at least 80% capacity for around 500 full charge cycles, while the iPhone 15 and newer aim for 1,000 cycles under ideal conditions. Actual battery life varies with usage, but if you see a performance drop earlier, a fresh battery is the simplest, most cost-effective way to keep your phone running smoothly.

Yes. For optimal results, fully charge the new battery to 100% and continue charging for at least two more hours. Then use your device until it shuts off due to low battery, and finally charge it uninterrupted back to 100%. This helps the system to accurately measure battery capacity. Depending on your iPhone model and iOS version, you may see an “Important Battery Message” or a missing Battery Health indicator—this doesn’t affect your phone’s everyday performance. As this is a software feature, your options will depend on the version of iOS you are currently using.

• On iOS 17.6 and earlier, your iPhone may display a warning about the “genuineness” of the battery after the repair, even when using original Apple parts.
• From iOS 18 onwards, Apple’s Repair Assistant allows for parts authentication. While Apple has promised to improve support for third-party batteries in June 2024, including showing battery health metrics, as of iOS 18.2.1 support for third-party batteries remains unimplemented. If your iPhone functions normally, you can safely ignore the warning.
