What is this yellow artifact thing going on with this bottom screen?

As per title, I don't understand. I swapped 3 screens and all had the same problem, so I'm guessing there is something going on with the 3ds gpu itself? Does anyone know more about this specific behaviour? I'm not finding anything on the internet and I'm at a loss, thanks in advance! (this isn't the average screen yellowing I'm used to, it's actually happening from the signal itself and not on the screen, these are not defective units and I tried 3 of them as I said ahah)

Update (05/16/24)

Here's the video, as you can see it moves around from left to right and changes behaviour based on what's happening on screen. I tried this screen and the other two that were exhibiting this behaviour on a different motherboard and they are all fine, it's the motherboard itself that is causing this. Cleaned the contacts and everything, I'm at a loss. What could be causing this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Enerd! Is the 3DS modded? Is the 3DS up to date? If it's modded you can change the screen filters (and white balance). Looks more software related at this moment...

Nope, it isn't modded. And even if I changed the screen filters and white balance by modding it, the yellow MOVES across the screen ahaha it's hard to convey, can I post videos to show its behaviour? The 3ds is up to date by the way, I updated it to the latest version because I thought that might help but nope. Should I give a shot to installing custom firmware and see how it behaves with filters etc? The way it behaves really reminds me of dying gpus on actual computers tho... It's odd.

Hmm, Yeah if you can post a video, that would be great :)! It's still possible that it's a CPU/GPU issue, but this is rare. I do not recommend to mod it. It should work without the CFW. Do you have a spare motherboard there? I would try this first and see what happens.

@dan0 hey, I I didn't know how to post a video without answering to my own question, so I did. You can take a look at it!
