Title:

Brand new heatsink laptop fan not working.

Text:

I've been trying to fix my old laptop for a while now. Recently, my new replacement fan came in for the MSI CX62 6QD, it is the same model from the same company (AAVID THERMALLOY PAAD06015SL). However, when I plug the fan in, it doesn't work. Turning on my computer makes the fan shake slightly, but then it doesn't move after that. I recently put a new hard drive into the laptop so there isn't any OS yet. Could that be the reason the fan isn't spinning yet?

However, my old laptop fan spins when I turn it on, so could it be a manufacturing error?

The new fan power connector is black instead of white for some reason, but they look identical apart from that.

Edit:

Here are the images of my old fan and my new fan:

On the left, is the new one and on the right is the old one.

Edit 2: Closeups of the white connector, front and back. (Sorry I wasn't exactly sure what you meant by this but I hope this is what you're looking for)
