Raleigh, Ford says that the transmission holds 10 quarts on two-wheel drive models and just under 10.5 quarts for four-wheel drive models for a complete change.

Well how manny qrts is less if u dont drain the TC??
Generally the tc holds about 4-5 quarts
According to the Owner's manual :
2005 Ranger Auto Transmission Fluid - use Mercon V
4x4 with 3.0 and 4.0 engines use 10.3 Qts (9.8L)
Note the 4x2 uses 9.9 Qts (9.4L) with the 2.3L engine and 10.0 qts (9.5L) with the 3.0/4.0 engine
