Why does my computer feel hot and shut down unexpectedly?
My computer feels much hotter than it ought to, and then it shuts down without me asking it to.

That is usually an auto-protect feature to keep your computer from frying itself. Open it up, clean the vents and verify that the fan(s) are working.

You may have excessive dust in the cooling systems. Use a compressed air canister with a narrow-width extension to blow dust off the vents and fans.
