Why is my screen black after powering up
when I turn my laptop on the screen goes black, but it shows that the power light is on. How can I fix this?

You might want to plug it in to an external monitor to make sure your laptop is working. Check out this trouble shoot guide!

@jlowe14 could be a bad LCD, bad inverter, or a bad GPU. Attach an external monitor and see if that display properly. If it does it's your LCD, or inverter. if it does not it's your GPU. For further help let us know what the results are.
