If your Nintendo Wii Remote will not sync or connect with your Wii console, use this Nintendo Wii Remote Won’t Connect or Sync problem page for possible causes and solutions.

Sounds like it’s not syncing you have to press the sync button on the remote than the sync button on the Wii, which syncs it to the Wii. If there’s still no joy then check your batteries, also try reseating them. You could also try resetting the console. Hope this helps.
