It sounds like the boot files for your computer got corrupted. Try using the recovery disk that should have come with your computer. Worst case is that you may have to install Windows again if it is not able to fix the boot problem.
You should try running diagnostics, press f12 at Dell splash screen, this can verify that the hard drive is good. It is possible that the hard drive has gone bad and is the cause for not booting.

Hi @dmeadows1966 ,
Have you tried starting in 'safe mode'? Keep pressing F8 (not holding operated but pressing/releasing very quickly) after Dell logo but before Win boot to get into safe mode options. Try to start with network options just to see if it works.
If you miss getting into safe mode and Windows tries to boot 'normally' and hangs, force stop the laptop by holding the power button until the laptop shuts down and then try again
If it works in 'safe mode' try using the last known good configuration option to see if this gets you going again.
