Lawnmower problem with Fuel pump

Check line from valve cover for cracks and leaks. Set valve lash. Plus check compression on that side cylinder. Mine developed rust scarring on one side, blew smoke. Am re-ringing with oversize and bore. One thing that helped for a little while was running a gravity feed fuel cell on top of hood.
