TV Main board replacement

I have Blaupunkt 32" (TV Model No. 32/1471-GB-5B-HBKUP-EU) that has stopped working believed to be the LED driver.

I have sourced a replacement board with the same number (tp.msd309.bp85 / 02-shy09b-chu1). The seller has said that as long as the number is the same it will work but I have read elsewhere that even if the board numbers are the same then the chip may not be compatible with my TV.

Can anyone tell me which is correct.

Kev Hatchett as long as the board numbers are the same and that they are the same revision (if any) then you will be ok. Just out of curiosity, what is the issue that makes you replace the main board?

I switched the TV on and it just flickered then went to a black screen though I still had sound.

I had some help from a Techkings member who thought it might be the LED Driver.

Shone a torch onto the screen while it was powered on and could see a faint picture.

Stripped the TV down to the LED's and recorded a video when I powered it on. Replaying the vid in slo mo confirmed all LED's were lighting up then going off.

The following day I powered the TV on again and all LED's lit up and stayed lit, switched off then on again to test and now the LED's don't even flash.

As the LED driver is incorporated into the PSB it was suggested that a new board was probably an easier solution than someone trying to diagnose and fix the problem remotely.
