Why is my TV screen blinking?

After a thunderstorm, the screen of my Westinghouse television set started blinking. It's not turning off and on, there's still picture, but it's like the brightness setting is continually going up and down for no obvious reason.

I've tried moving it to several different outlets and keep getting the same problem so I figure the problems internal. I'd appreciate some advice, thanks!

@ia1010 that sounds like a backlight issue. Could be your power board or your LCD backlight. Remove the back off of your TV (unplug your set of course and do not touch anything) and take a look at the power board. Check for leaking, domed looking capacitors as well as anything else that might look odd. Post some pictures of your boards with your question so that we can see what you see. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that. Give us your model number so that we can see if there is a common issue with that particular model. You also want to make sure that you have a multimeter available so we can eventually get you to measure some voltages etc.
