ASUS consumer purchase replacement battery

I recently removed the Lithium-Ion battery out of my ASUS F554L laptop because it had swollen.

With the particular model, ASUS sells no parts to consumers, including the battery. They want me to return the laptop to them for a battery replacement, but they won't give me a price quote until they have the laptop in hand.

The battery replacement on this laptop is pretty simple, as I have already pulled the bad one out.

Where can I purchase reputable, reliable batteries for the ASUS laptops?

Hi!

You can purchase batteries anywhere on the internet, just google the exact name of your model and battery replacement. You will want to prefer eBay or (with some luck Amazon). Always go for OEM batteries, not knockoffs (carefully read the product description to make sure it's an original part) and look for sellers who have a good return policy in case anything goes wrong.

How can you tell OEM batteries apart from the knockoffs?

You look at the maker, if it's some weird chineese name you've never heard off offering a battery with different specifications than yours, it's probably a knockoff.
