Screen and Battery replacement

I'm curious, I'm replacing the screen (it's shattered) and related components on my iPhone, (6s Plus) as long as I have it open I was going to replace the battery.

Question:

Can I replace both items in one fell swoop? Or should I replace the screen, boot everything back up, then replace the battery?

Options

first disconnect the battery, then the screen. you can then put in the new battery but leave it disconnected until you have the new screen connected
