have you tried another AC? if draws a lot of power because is defective that might be the reason.
can you remove the hard disk and battery, turn of the pc and after the logo press the F2 key.
this gets you into what is called the “Bios”.
Leave on for 10 minutes or more and see if the screens gets black.
if it does turn it off and back again this time press the F12 and the F5 for diagnostics.
Run a full diagnostics. If it is good then and if you can get a new hard disk and install the OS, nothing else.
After you finish the installation turn it on and let on for 10 or more minutes. see what happens.
As a technician i could do more trouble shooting but that requires that i have the pc with me.
i am not trying to get any business from you. Here on ifixit i give free advice that might help solve the problem.

does an external monitor give you an image?
by Scott Reidel
This is the process...
Laptop is on docking station. Or plugged in charging.
Plugged into external monitor.
Turn Laptop on. Goes throught boot process.
Log in with password.
After about a minute my screen goes black. Both of them.
Now...
Laptop off the docking station and power charger cord. Running on battery only. There are no issues with black screen.
If i wait for everything to load and activate the GUI speed lower and plug it back in or connect it to docking station. No problems.
So, i only have these problems when it is plugged in to charge battery or connected to docking.
Hope this is understandable. Thanks
