Tablet not powering on, next steps?

Hi there,

the tablet does not power up, I tried pressing the suggested button combinations.

By measuring the battery leads I can see 3.69V.

What are the next steps? I would like to avoid buying a battery if battery is fine, same goes for the powering circuit and motherboard.

Thanks

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @hyklamin ,

Does it turn on with the charger connected and switched on?

The tablet cannot be turned on. It is written in the question.

Hi @hyklamin ,

OK but you only said that "the tablet does not power up, I tried pressing the suggested button combinations." and "By measuring the battery leads I can see 3.69V."

Nowhere is mentioned that you tried powering on with the charger.

All what you said could have been done on the battery only

How long did you hold the Home, Power and Vol. up buttons for? it may take a bit longer than you think.

by

Long enough. I am asking how to detect which component is malfunctioning, we are beyond the basic troubleshooting steps.

Hi @hyklamin ,

Since I don't know what you've tried,try the following,

Disconnect the battery from the systemboard for a few minutes, then reconnect it and then connect the charger to the tablet and leave it for a while to see if the tablet starts to charge at least.

Have you tried taking the battery out, holding the power button for 20-30 seconds, then releasing and putting the battery back in? That usually fixes my phone when that happens, so might be of help.

@dud1f3r if you take the battery out there is no point to hold a button, as there is literally no electricity going anywhere on the circuits

by

It flushes the capacitors or something along those lines. Try it and see what happens, it works for me so might help you out. Imma be real with you though, I have no clue how it does but it does sometimes, so it's worth a shot.
