Dryer doesn’t operate.
I believe the plug (red/yellow buttons) is bad.
Can it be disassembled and repaired? Is a new plug an option?
Is this a good question?

worktrain2 what is at the end of the hair dryer cord is common called a GFCI (it actually is a ALCI (Appliance Leakage Current Interrupter) and it commonly uses some special screw heads that makes it almost impossible to replace. It also is extremely difficult to find a replacement ( you can get them from online places like Alibaba as well as Aliexpress etc. just not your common hardware store etc.)since these are only to be changed by “authorized personnel. In the past I uses a harvested cord from a small heater and replaced the whole cord. Of course, test the cord with a multimeter first to ensure if that is your hair dryers issue

The plug and cord are seldom the problem with a hair dryer. Much more likely is a break in the heating coil wiring. Open it up and use a multimeter to test for continuity. This is going to vary according to which brand you are running but most look similar to this diagram
