LVDS - eDP cables change

Hello!

I have an HP laptop with broken 30-pin eDP screen and a 40-pin cable laying around. I also have an older LVDS cable from HP that is the same with the newer laptop’s motherboard LVDS port.

So the question is can I use the older LVDS cable with the 40-pin screen on my laptop or its not going to work or burn anything?

As long as it says eDP on the labelling of the cable it’ll usually work but the main problem is the length of these cables are generally not the same along with the webcam connector.
