iPhone 7 no sound on earpiece only during a call

Hi to all, first time stuck and out of ideas so here is my fist question.

Iphone 7 with classic audio ic problem, no audio device on recorder, long boot time.

Made the c12 jumper(this is maybe the 20th device I repair with this issue), I put back the ic, test quickly the recorder, it works, put back the phone, test a phone call, surprise, no audio from earpiece, if I put it on speaker there is sound, in headphones too. The earpiece works withe every other sound source like youtube, recorder, only on a call it is complete silence.

What I tried:

Changed the audio IC with another one, same thing.

Restore with itunes, nothing.

Changed the earpiece (I tried with another complete assembly screen), same thing.

Made diode readings from under the audio IC, it looks all good.

Now I don’t know what to check, it is an Intel baseband iphone 7.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Cristian from Romania.

Try a known-good FCAM flex, not just one pre-installed on another screen…just to be certain.

Afterwards, check the passive components near the connector as excess heat from the Audio IC work may have floated some components that are covered in epoxy next to the FCAM connector. You can do this by probing the FPC and comparing to a known-good device or a tool like ZXW.

Minho, thank you very much for your time, I really appreciate it.

I solved the phone in the end.

The FCAM was good, also all the diode measurements on the connector were almost the same with a working phone.

What did the trick was making all 4 jumpers, although I measured them before and the meter in beeper mode was very snappy in reaction, weird.

If someone encounter the same issue, now you know what you have to do.

Thanks again.

It would be interesting to know what exactly you have jumpered, thanks.

In the picture the uppermost jumper is mandatory, it is C12 pad, this usually breaks, on the same fault line there are 3 more that can brake, but never did in my experience until now(they measured good!!!)
