You have to replace the speaker and there is no official guide on how to reinstall that properly. Also the water resistant adhesive is hard to reapply. I tried five times before getting it truly water resistant. I would not trust anyone on their first try.

If you did it yourself then probably not as the adhesive is probably not as strong as it was at release. DO NOT trust it in the water. Its still risky even if apple did the repair as they will not replace any device for water damage even if it is within warranty and you kept the phone with in the water resistance limits. Also its water resistant not waterproof.

I would say, that event new iPhone is not really waterproof, sad but true.
If someone taked off old adhesive, and put new, original one on the frame, it should have some kind of protection, but if i open iph for customers i always say, that will never be safe to use it under water, even if im using original adhesives.

You can do a pressure test with a barometer app, however it will not work for iPhone XS due to design differences.
I replaced my iPhone battery through apple and when giving my iPhone a brief rinse, the Face ID broke. My phone is now going through a loop where I can't reset the phone without turning off find my and can't turn off find my without turning off stolen device protection. Stolen device protection can only be turned off with Face ID which does not work

Something must be really wrong though if it needs a new battery this soon though...

@c9679 Yeah the battery on the XS seems to be pretty bad with deterioration. I have only had mine for ~6 months and its already down to ~92% health
